After a traditional consulting career and many years of experience in finance project management, Norman Scherer was Senior Finance Manager and Compliance Executive at a satellite insurance group (London - Paris - New York - Dubai) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he was responsible for the conception and implementation of process optimisations throughout the entire finance organisation. He was responsible for the planning, design and implementation of complex financial transactions and the optimisation of financial processes with institutional investors.

Norman Scherer holds an MBA | Corporate Finance | from Durham Business School (UK), an MBA from EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht Oestrich- Winkel (DE) and a BA in Controlling & Accounting HGB | IFRS. In addition, he has successfully completed further demanding executive education programs at renowned universities (Harvard Business School | HBS |, London School of Economics | LSE |, International Real Estate Business School | IREBS |, EBS Real Estate Management Institute | EBS REMI |).

Since 2022 Norman Scherer is Originator as well as Managing Director of Emerald Advisory GmbH, which is a subsidiary of Emerald Mezzanine Fund (AIFM, SICAV) in Luxembourg.

As Director of Emerald Advisory, Volker Oehls is responsible for the entire underwriting process in Germany. Volker Oehls has over 25 years of experience in real estate, including loan portfolio underwritings and acquisitions, real estate valuations and sales advisory, both for direct real estate and real estate loans.

Before becoming self-employed, Volker Oehls held various management positions at Situs Germany (Managing Director Germany and Netherlands), Associate Director at Capmark Asset Management, Head of Research at CBRE and Senior Consultant Valuation at Dr. Lübke. He was also a member of the advisory board of BKS (Bundesvereinigung Kreditankauf und Servicing e.V.), the German NPL interest group. Volker Oehls completed his studies in Applied Geography at the University of Trier.

He has been self-employed since 2019 and focuses on advising on real estate transaction (predominantly sale and lease backs in the industrial sector), credit advisory on behalf of Emerald Management and loan sales on behalf of mortgage banks.

As Head of Asset Management, Andreas Stüttgen has over 20 years of experience in the German credit and real estate market, bringing his expertise in property management, portfolio management, valuation, transaction management and NPLs to the Emerald Mezzanine Fund.

Prior to Emerald, Andreas Stüttgen worked for companies such as Situs, Credit Agricole CIB, SGK and Hudson Advisors, where he dealt with all facets of non-performing, real estate secured loans. Due to his activities, he has excellent contacts in the various sectors.
